For those of you that attended the New Glarus coffee meet on July 1st.  You might have spoken to our son there, and had a glimmer of the sort of person that he was.

Later that evening he was taken from us while out riding with friends.

Never forgo the chance to see, hug or talk to your loved ones because fate can snatch them away instantly.

Godspeed Chris ..

I am so sorry to hear of your loss.  You are so right about one never knows when it will be the last time we see someone. I will keep you all in my prayers, you are not alone in your pain. It will take time but you will learn to live with that empty place in your heart. May the Lord comfort you now. I will be sure to hug my children extra tonight. Jim

I just tried to find an emoticon to describe how I'm feeling right now.  It appears that the "feeling sick to my stomach and trying not to cry emoticon" doesn't exist.

Please accept my condolences Bob and Marilyn.  I didn't get to meet your son, but I am sure that he was a fine man, since he has such excellent folks as parents.

I had just shook his big hand yesterday morning and noticed how much his smile resembles that of his mother, Marilyn.
Marilyn had been reiterating the importance of gear (he had a back protector at home) to him in front of the coffee shop.  We also spoke about track days.

I think you are both fine folks and I am not only glad to know you two, but I am also glad to have met your kind son Chris.  He will be missed greatly.

My brother called me to give me this news.

I can't describe how horrible I am feeling.

I shook his hand very firmly and he returned it likewise. I looked him in the eye and my impression was what a nice young man! I could see that mom was proud of her boy and with good reason.

My kids better watch out now. I am going to smother them.

Bob and Marilyn I am so sorry to hear of this. I thought about your family all evening while working in the garage. I'm just really sad right now. I wish I would have chatted with Chris and Marilyn yesterday. It was sort of cramped quarters at the coffee shop and I didn't get around to everyone. I wish I was more of a people person and made an effort to talk at least a bit to everyone.

The one thing I do recall was Marilyn looking quite happy and proud introducing her son to others.

Bob, from my experience and the stories I've heard, you're one of the most generous men I've met. If there's anything you need, let us know.
