Two of us heading East to PA from WI, never been to PA other than to get to Norfork VA 45+ yrs ago.  Did get close last year as we home based out of Malinton WVA.  Looking for route suggestions.
Wondering the most scenic way to get into the state.
We definitely favor the twisties.
Plan on spending 7-10 days in the area, so wondering about good home bases to take day trips out of.
Do not camp but like dusting off in near by lakes or mountain streams.
At this point have no destination in mind exactly but mountainous terrain does seem to work well.
On GT1600, and a modified Wing, so if some of you would be so kind would appreciate suggestions or sites to get that kind of info on.  Just finished reading about the GCPA in road runner so it as well peaked my interest. In anticipation of your response, thanks.

After you leave the Grand Canyon head over to Hyner View State Park for a much better view.

Check out my web site for info on regional roads - http://www.MotoRoads.net

There is nice riding in the southwest (Laurel Highlands area near Ligonier, Donegal, Somerset, Bedford).

There is nice riding in the mountains that run north/south up the middle of the state.

There is nice riding north of I-80 in north-central PA.

That's starting to sound like a big loop. If you enter PA via southeast OH and northern WV, you've got some great riding there too.

If you are riding 477, you might like 235.  Haven't been on it this year yet, but road surface was still in good condition last time I rode it in December.  Going south on 477, take 192 in either direction and then double back on 45 to 235.  Take 235 south all the way down to 333, take 22 along the river to 34 and then pick up 849 into Duncannon.  Are you lost yet!;-?  Cross the river and head east toward Pine Grove or Tower City. [There are several different routes; I like Powells Valley road but it's not always in good condition, which keeps it interesting.]  Most riders here prefer going a little further south of Duncannon on 22 to Fishing Creek road, which I believe is also 443 or it becomes 443 to Swatara State Park.  Take Gold Mine Rd north to 209 and west to 125 north.  Cross the river at Sunbury and you are almost back where you started.
