Just recently did another impromptu Iron Butt

This time from Elk City, OK

Left there at 8am Atlanta time.

Rolled into my garage at 11.02pm

1,002 miles.

The road works on I 40 and Hwy 78 thru AL slowed me down by about 80 minutes.

This was the last day of a 11 day 6,047 mile trip out to CA via a few National Parks like Zion, Yosemite, southern rim of the Grand Canyon etc.

As I took my helmet off in my garage the room looked really wide as did the rooms on the ground floor of my house. I can only think this optical illusion happened because I'd been looking out the "slot" in my full face for all those hours.
