I was sorta half-way planning on doing some sort of NorthWest US + Canada (Borscht Burn Baby!) Tour this Summer, but my ld touring buddy can't get two weeks in a row off work. Could still do it solo, but I'm starting to think about doing something completely different and including the GF(who can't get the two weeks either)...

So, this ad popped into my mailbox today from groupon, and I'm seriously considering. I'm not the sort to do much laying on the beach or exposing my lilly-white skin to the sun. Not into scuba either, though I might try. One thing I noted is you can rent a scooter at the hotel, so though there will be no railing through twisties, it wouldn't be completely non-moto Wink. Day-tripping around the island on a scooter and checking out all the sights and meeting locals would be more my speed, vs. laying on the beach/hammock and reading a book.

1,800 bucks including airfare, accommodations for 5 nights, seems like a good deal. Though I just started considering this or something like this, and really have no clue. Any thoughts on this offer and/or past experiences along the same lines/different places would be appreciated Smile.

One other thing I read somewhere was Hawaii gets more incoming tourists in a day than Cook Islands gets in a year. I'm sure I must be mis-quoting now that I typed it, but the gist is it's more secluded than traditional island holiday locations....

$1800 for 5 days seems like a smoking hot deal, but if you're not gonna lounge, why limit yerself to an island?

Buenos Aires?

That seems to add up to about 3 days on a plane, if that's what 8 day, 5 nights means.  I would probably pass, but that's just me.

Costa Rica?
