Next to the more forward-thinking F800-based Nuda model, Husky has unveiled for this year two more models with engines sourced from a BMW.  One is a supermoto, one is dual sport - TR650 Strada and TR650 Terra.  Both use the G650GS single cylinder engine. The main question - will BMW/Husky bring these ashore to the US, unlike the Nuda?

Awful.

BMW will ruin the Husky name.

Headscratch  BMW is already helping Husky by expanding their dealer network.  I don't follow why you are dismissing this venture or these bikes.

+1.

Not to mention that these bikes make a little more HP and weigh less the the BMWs with the same engine. It looks like Husky is getting the better end of the deal here.

Cycle World says yes and that they could be in US showrooms by fall.

Agreed
That 650 motor/trans is a shit box compared to the 610/630 for DualSport use.

I'm pretty sure you're missing the point.  The new bikes are in addition to the same husky lines as always.  The new Husky/BMW 650 is more of a competitor to a KLR 650 than, say, the KTM 630.

Tell that to the TE610/630 which are now gone.  These crap boxes are meant to replace them.

I believe this to be a true statement. There's absolutely zero to comapre between the two. The TE & SM 610/630 has been widly popular.
