Who says sports bikes are only for the young? I guess it helps if you are an ex racer. Bigok

I say in two weeks the bike has a Vetter fairing, hacked handlebar conversion, beaded seat cover, highway pegs and a 70lb. shed-welded custom rack for some old r1150GS Jesse cases accompanied by "This is the bike Ducati should have made" post on some moto-forum.

In two weeks the bike will still have the same number of miles on it.  May even still be on the trailer.

He already has a 1098R. I think he knows what he's getting into. In fact, I think he has an 85 year old boner right now.  Cool

Guaranteed he's got double the miles on it in two weeks than you do in a month.

Hey, the guy's 85 years old, living in Central Eastern Europe, and still riding and buying Ducati's.

Life doesn't get much better than that at 85 if you ask me.

Kudo's to the old buck and may he ride 'till he drops.  Thumbsup Thumbsup

Here is tasty detail  :

" The ex racer is still old school in many ways – he dislikes ABS since modern brakes are already so much better than the ones he used to contend with back in the day! "

85 years old dude says ABS blows ,,,,,,,,, Why would you even need that junk ? Headscratch

Well, it's all a matter of how well you look after yourself. My dad is coming 87 this year. He did give up his bike about 7 years ago. He still goes for a 5 to 8 km walk almost every day. Still logs 800 + Kilometer days in his car when travelling.

At the local shooting range he still competes in both pistol and rifle and typically still finishes in the top 5 on a regular basis.

He has kept his weight down, still works out with weights every second day and easily passes for some one 10 to 15 years younger. He is on no medication at all.

When I go to bike nights and see 50 to 75% of the riders there smoking and mostly over weight, it is no big surprise, most are old before their time. I log about 4000 kilometers a year bicycling to keep in shape, I'm 52 and weight within 5 lbs of what I was at 21.

Treat your body like a temple, not an out house and you can be that old guy with a new sport bike at 85.
