Hi all!

Name is Jason and I've been riding for a few years now.  Use to run with a small group from the Ducati forum but after getting tired of paying out the nose for the maintenance and getting kinda bored with the shorter rides I picked up a VFR 800.  I've had it about a year now and have done a few long rides on it (Mena, AR and Three Sister's down south of the hill country) but would like to do many more.  Generally I'll just do morning rides south of Dallas (660 loop around Ferris) or pick up some friends and go do 445 north of Frisco.

Just wondering if there are any others in the area that are interested in long (or short) rides.  I think I'm stuck in the middle when it comes to finding others to ride with.  Cruisers are too slow and many of the sport bikes can't handle the distance.  Not a fan of huge groups but nothing wrong with two to five bikes.

Thanks.

A. Get invloved at twtex.com for Texas related stuff.

B. Pick a direction and distance. I like sw due to the terrain and sites. Try going to the Granbury direction and south from there.

Luck,

They have chapters in both Dallas & Ft. Worth. I was a member of the Dallas chapter for several years. A great bunch of guys that ride regularly. I tried to get a chapter going here in Amarillo when I moved from Dallas 3 years ago. Unfortunately the demographics in Amarillo just won't support one.  Sad

Thanks guys.  I will check them both out.  The twtex forum looks really good.  I've secretly wanted a dual sport forever.   Lol

Also, the gf will be away on biz starting Thrusday through Sunday so I may take that opportunity to do a long ride (heat be damned!).  I've been eyeing Santa Fe despite the long ride to that area that's required.  Not sure yet.  I'll post up after I do some more thinking about what times I can escape from work.

Thanks again.
