This is an amazing performance scooter! It didn't take more than a few miles and about a dozen curves to make me a believer! Meet the Gina Lolabrigida of all Italian scooters!!

The MP3 500 with its fuel injected four-valve, liquid-cooled, 40HP, 492cc single cylinder engine has an honest top speed of 90 mph and a timed quarter-mile of 17.43 seconds at 75.7 mph. Zero to 60 mph takes 9.7 seconds. So it's not a rocket but there is sometimes more to life! And 60mpg is pretty hard to criticize!

The scooter was purchased new off the Vespa Portland showroom floor in July of 2009. It is a one owner machine that was used primarily for commuting. There is only one minor nick to be found anywhere on the machine, hard to even spot. It is schedule in to have it's recommended 3000 mile service performed this Saturday by the local Vespa dealer so that it will be 100% ready to go out an enjoy!

Yes its a little different : )   okay a LOT different but what friggin' fun to ride! This scooter seems to fly under the radar but it will get me in trouble if I ride it too much!!

This might be a good fly-and-ride to Prudhoe...   Hmm...

This might be a good fly-and-ride to Prudhoe...   Hmm...

Over the years I have had the rare opportunity to sample a wide variety of motorcycles and scooters and didn't have to "own them" as I have worked in the motorcycle industry for the majority of my adult life.  Or kid life which ever it really has been  Cool    Trikes look totally boring and I hope I am never reduced to just that choice.  Sidecars are a riot but some limitations..  maybe one for my Stella Scooter someday would be cool..
I remember the equalean sidecar and it always looked way fun!!

Now comes this MP3 thing...   with a little practice I have a feeling a person could get very smooth in your riding finesse on this thing.     It's fast enough to get out of harms way and surprisingly stable when needed.  Of course if it were me I'd be looking for performance tires, better shocks, tweaking camber on the front end and doing what I always do to my rides!!   AND all the while being able to carry lots of junk in my trunk

I think the next one I find I'm keeping for the business  Smile
