Most of my bikes have been 650's, and I've toured on 'em all...

...and the 650F on the bottom will do 117 indicated with some throttle left (or so I've been told...) Bigsmile

Lately I've even been considering a new Honda CBR250R to do some touring on. But I keep thinking that might not be enough even for me - the first person ready to join Poof's Granny-Touring.net. Bigsmile

Some can flame away, but I love the look of the GSX650F with touring gear on it. Dead sexy!  Inlove

I looked everywhere within 400 miles of me for a new one when I was buying in 2010. There were no '09 models imported and I didn't like the 2010 colors. I love that black/grey/red '08. Very nice bike bro. (not that I don't love my black FZ6R...)

It is chain driven EEK!
Now, say what you will about chain drives but they are without a doubt the most efficient means of power delivery to the rear wheel, they're simple, relatively maintenance free with a shot of lube now and then, they are also cheap and easy to repair or replace, even on the side of the road in many cases. You can't say that about shafts or even belts for that matter.

Might I suggest a chain oiler such as the Scottoiler.  I fitted one to my Bandit some time ago and could not be happier. Yes, there is a bit of fling off, but nothing excessive and the chain runs dead sooth and quiet.

The road is NOT your personal race track - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VruWHHEnZGw

If you could ride 1/2 as good as you think you do, you would be a pro.
