PS. I think its priced right and its a beauty. "

Thanks!

Would it help if I posted additional pictures?

Or hell, I may end up just keeping it and saving up to buy the suspension it would take to keep my back from hurting while riding it.

What would ya'll do?  $2k is an awful lot for suspension when the bike is worth around $3k.

I struggled with that same issue last year when I sold my FZ1. Man I wish I'd kept that bike!!

How many years will you ride it if you do the suspension?

Not to mention the fact that you can have the suspension greatly improved for far less than $2000, even if you pay for the install labor.  You'd be amazed at what even $500 gets you.

Speak to me.  Who do you recommend?  Which parts?  etc.

How much do you weigh?  Could be as cheap as replacing the fork and shock springs for your weight (in 2000, the rear spring was too stiff for an "average weight" rider stock, front springs were too soft).  That might set you back $300 or so depending on how fancy you get.

Hell, it could be as cheap as getting the preload set front and rear, and dialing in the rebound and compression damping and just plain getting your sag set up.  Any decent import dealership should be able to help you with this for less than an hours labor if you can't do it yourself or can't find a couple friends to help.

As for where to get the parts, Racetech is a good place to start.  Be sure to use their spring rate calculator, and be honest about your weight.  Smile

Weight - I'm steadily losing after having recently gone veggie (at least for 6 months), but I'm currently at 260.  I asked about suspension at triumphrat.net and I was told to wait until I'm at my ideal weight (220) before pulling the trigger.

Thanks for the links.  I'll check 'em out.

Heh, I've lost ~90 pounds since November going the other way, much more meat, no soy or wheat or rice or corn.  Smile

Anyway, don't wait on the pounds to come off...springs are generally the cheap part of the equation in any case, and getting something sprung well for your current weight can still allow a good deal of flexibility.  You can back off the preload and adjust damping as the weight comes off, it's really no different than dialing it in for luggage, or a pillion.  And your S3 has a fully adjustable set of boingers front and rear.

threadjack -

Croak, did you go paleo? I'm thinking about it. One of my girls is corn intolerant, the other wheat. I'm thinking of just going paleo altogether because keeping it all straight is a pain in the ass.

I love the Speed Triple. I wish I was in the market.

"Primal", to be more precise.  It's an offshoot that's less strict than Paleo (cheese and dairy are not verboten, for instance), but follows the same basic tenets.  Works  for me...YMMV.

Wow is really is a great deal. I test rodeonw of these about two weeks ago but in neon blue. Loved the bike but hated the color so I bought a 2009 in black. This is a great bike. Good luck with the sale.

Very nice! Why is this still here?

Without a lottery win, I will simply continue to add obnoxious innuendo.
