996 project
«

so this weekend i moved to Austin, i just finished unpacking last night,...and now that im really busy readjusting
what else to do but to turn the track bike to street...not just any track bike, a high maintenance whore,... i mean, just to start her i need to play some soft music, bring flowers and the $60 bottle of wine.
yep, to put the sport in sporttouring, in a very spartan manner i mind you
so here it is a couple of years ago, in its element
earlier this year it got some needed plastics replaced and a paint job in trade for some work
I ordered plastics, lights, mirrors, stickers, side stand, plate relocator, blah blah blah.... got it all already
got paint, actually is not paint its a plastic film spray called plastidip...its a flat black "murdered out" finish.
updates as avail....the bike and stiuff is back in SA, ill be down there soon to do some stuff to it as i can

We 996 riders gotta stick together!
Actually, the 996 is pretty good on the street (except for stop and go traffic...

What's it need done to get street legal? If it's straightforward stuff (lights etc), and you don't feel you have the spare time, join a local Ducati club, and offer up a pizza and beer Saturday for experienced help in completing it. My experience is Ducati guys like to help out Ducati guys.

You'll regret selling her if you go that route.

...a Japanese manufacturer might take the motor, castrate it to about 110 hp and stick it in a cheaper, heavier chassis with low-spec suspension and brakes and slice an ‘R’ or two off the name. That’s not how Aprilia roll

If need be, tape lights on the bike. Superfun bike on open roads. (I'm collecting used CF bits for mine...)

Admitting to yourself that you want to buy back your V11 is the first step on the road to recovery.
