Well, I've got the break in miles logged on my new Concours, but the seat gave me an awful case of monkey-butt. I had a Sargent world sport seat on my Sprint and it was the best mod I made. Does anybody have a Sargent seat on their Concours?  I'm wondering how much wider it is than the stock seat. Also, does it move the rise between the driver and passenger sections back to give more room. Any comparisons to the stock seat would be welcome before I make a purchase.

I'd say it's probably about 2 inches wider.  I'm not sure that the rise is moved back per se, but it's more like a step than the slope on the stock seat.

Does it feels like you have more room to slide forward and aft while riding?

Yup. It feels about the same as the Sargent I had on my Vstrom. Quite roomy. I don't have a particularly large ass though.

It's definitely roomier than the stocker. Firmer as well.

Here's a crappy iPod pic. You're looking at a foot front to back and about 15 inches at the widest point.

Stock seat = 10 miles.

Sargent = 19,000 miles.

I purchased the Sargent a week before I got the bike. Had one on the V-Strom for 46,000 mile, so, had to get one for the C14.

All day comfort for me.

I thought the sarge was bettER than stock...but not good.  It threw me into the tank.  Terrible.  I have a Baldwin for day to day riding and a Russell Day long for long trips, and don't regret a dollar spent on either.  I got lucky and bought the sarge for 300, and sold it for 400....  which is what I spent on the Baldwin.  The Russell I paid regular price.

Seriously, way better seats IMO.

By "threw me into the tank" above I mean it had me sitting on my nuts on the tank.

Have ya considered the Corbin, I'm quite pleased with it on my Connie, although I do like the Sargent on my ZX14

For the $ you'll spend on a mass produced Sargent or Corbin, you can spend a little more and get a much better-fitting custom seat from Russell or Mayer or one of the other companies.

Just my .02 cents after having endured 10K+ miles on an ill-fitting Sargent.  My new RDL is the bomb.

Good reviews for these seats on the connie forum.

Whats the typical build time for Sargent?

I ordered mine last Wednesday for my new Connie but still has not shipped.

Just wondering.

I think I got mine 2 days after ordering.  Did you get some kind of custom work done?  They are pretty much a stocked item.

No custom work. Just a standard "off-the-shelf" version with the modular pod system (non-painted).

Looks like a phone call is in order.

I'm not really liking the stock seat on my Concours. Hopefully Sargent is the ticket.

thanks for the responds.
