This poll is geared towards the men, but women, if you've let a guy ride pillion, let us know!!!

It's funny how society influences us.  I know plenty of men who are ALL about getting women into riding, and getting riding to be considered just another form of transportation, but get all sorts of quiet and awkward when confronted about whether they'd let a guy ride behind them.  And I get a ton of, "YEAH RIGHT!" answers when I ask if they've ever ridden pillion behind their wife, girlfriend, or just anyone at all!

Not saying any answer is right or wrong (I myself have never ridden pillion, but would be willing to try - although I'd be nervous as hell knowing I'm not in control).

Well, it's time to bare my soul....

I'm a man.  I've given men a ride on the back of my various motorcycles.  And I don't care.  They all thought it was fun, they all had a GRAND 'ol time making it awkward by trying to hug me (especially if there were girls in the car next to us   ).  And I will say, the look the gate guards gave us as we drove back onto the military base was PRICELESS when they realized that, yes, it was two dudes on a motorcycle!   Lol Lol Lol

And I'd like to ride pillion once at least.  But DAMN it's hard convincing another guy to let me ride bitch!  Haven't succeeded yet!!!  But I won't give up!!!!

How about you?

I'd rather not give anybody a ride but if I must, it will only be women.

As a matter of fact, I forgot to add this, I actually keep a spare helmet and gloves and reflective vest at work at all times in case someone wants a ride to lunch.

As a direct result of owning a Husqvarna I've ridden pillion on a number of friends' bikes.    Rolleyes

But seriously, I don't care.  In fact, I think it says something about closets that so many guys are afraid to have another guy as a passenger...   Lol

I choose to enforce the Two Ball rule, only two balls per bike unless the pillion is under 16 years of age.

And I don't mean that in a Michael Jackson sort of way.....kids and nephews are welcome, until old enough to own their own bike.  Smile

 Lmao

I have given many a man a good time on the back of my bike. I have never had the opportunity to be on the back of one, i don't know many people who ride. Embarassment

I've ridden pillion on my dad's bike as a teenager.  I have not ridden pillion since being old enough to ride my own.

I prefer to ride solo, but if someone needs a ride, and has the proper gear, I would not be adverse to giving anyone I trust a ride on the back of the bike.  My wife has no interest in riding pillion.

I've had a couple buddies ride pillion before. It was waaaaaaaay back in the day though. One time was senior year of high school and my teamate's car wouldn't start so I had to give him a ride to our basketball game. He was 6' 9"  EEK! and it was a very uncomfortable ride for the both of us on my little Yamaha Fazer  Crazy

The last time I rode pillion was when I ran out of gas (yep, once again back in my high school days) and I had to ride pillion to the gas station and back. Riding on the backs of bikes scares the shit out of me and I hope I never have to do it again  Thumbsdown

I normally don't like a guys junk that close to my ass, but I did give a friend a ride home after he crashed.
So we need another button to give fellow riders a pillion ride, but only in cases of emergency like a BMW final drive failure or a crash.

Rented a bike in Florida like I do every winter I'm there, but on this trip we were there with my buddy and his family (our wives and kids are like family to each other as well).

My bud says he wants to come along.  Considering I had a Road King with lots of storage, and a throne for him to sit on, and that the bike already weighs like 1000 lbs I said sure.  Was a great day.  Half the time, I didn't even know he was there.  Stopping distances increased as you'd expect, but handling and accelerating - no change.

All depends on the bike, I guess.  I'd give rides on the Sprint, like to drop someone off somewhere, but I wouldn't take a guy on the back of the Daytona unless it was necessary.

For fun, no. Out of necessity, yes, no problem with it. I had a friend's bike break down once and I had to give him a ride home on the back of the Concours.
