. We have many who moved from larger sport tourers to the NT include one administrator who put 165,000 miles on two Connies. I have friend here in Houston who has an ST and a BMW 650. He almost never uses the ST, says it is too heavy. I certainly don't miss the extra 150 lb I would have to man-handle every morning to get to work.

Thanks all. Really leaning towards a gsx650. Someone I know introduced me to the triumph street triple. It doesn't have any fairings but I have found some luggage for one, if I was to go with one. Anyone have experience on a triple?

Well, I went to the dealer and took a 2012 triple for a spin. Came back and put a deposit down on a 2013 blue triple with ABS. Should be here January, gives me around 2 moths to farkle

That's awesome. I owned a Street Triple R for a few years - fantastic bike. There are a number of related threads in the Triumph subforum.

FZ6 is a fantastic choice. Nice and upright. Thrill to ride. Smooth. Yamaha quality. Easy maintenance. Easy to "tour up". Here are some shots of mine:
