For more info check us out at http://www.nt-owners.org.  We have many who moved from larger sport tourers to the NT include one administrator who put 165,000 miles on two Connies.  I have friend here in Houston who has an ST and a BMW 650.  He almost never uses the ST, says it is too heavy.  I certainly don't miss the extra 150 lb I would have to  man-handle every morning to get to work.

Thanks all. Really leaning towards a gsx650. Someone I know introduced me to the triumph street triple. It doesn't have any fairings but I have found some luggage for one, if I was to go with one. Anyone have experience on a triple?

And now the 2013 has optional ABS! I hope it doesn't take to long to get one in. Will be visiting the local dealer to see how long till they get one.

That's awesome.  I owned a Street Triple R for a few years - fantastic bike.  There are a number of related threads in the Triumph subforum.

FZ6 is a fantastic choice.  Nice and upright.  Thrill to ride. Smooth.  Yamaha quality.  Easy maintenance.  Easy to "tour up".  Here are some shots of mine:
