I live in Vancouver BC and own a 1 year old gs500f. I have a tank bag, small givi top box. Any suggestions for a weekend trip, places to stay and what kinda budget should I expect?

I can't decide between heading east or south..

Or north. The Frasier River is a nice ride, and Spences Bridge a nice stop for lemonade. You get to swing down 8 to
Merritt where they have the BEST beef at the Coldwater Hotel Drool and.... oh, the roads, they keep on going! Burnout

- Spences Bridge: expensive to stay over night, but their homemade  breads and soup are excellent!
- Coldwater Hotel: not too pricey (cheap, even), but the rooms haven't been updated since the '60s - 1860s, that is  Lol  Seriously, the rooms are weird, but the place has just this awesome vibe to it  Thumbsup  And like I said the food is fantastic.

Welcome

Starting from Vancouver maybe ride north up that beautiful coast to Powell R. for a mileage short weekend trip,
or perhaps east to Okanogan and then decide east, north or south from there.
If my first weekend tour, I'd forego the hi miles and go up the north coast.

Post photos...

Also, my experience on costs is that traveling in USA is 25% less expensive than in Canada,
which isn't worth any consideration when only doing a weekend trip.
