That's a LOT of bike for that money.  A lot.  Good luck.  It's sad to see such a competent machine not getting the love it deserves.

It's either the right bike in the right place at the right time, but no money....or in your case, the right bike and money in hand, but the wrong place. I'm looking at Bandits right now....what a tease..!!

If you're serious, shipping or a fly-n-ride is a $400 solution...don't let your next bike slip away for such an insignificant amount.

Will attest to Carbonero's character / riding skills.  Wouldn't hesitate to have him deliver a ride for me if I were unable to do so myself.  And he works cheap, too....

Escaped from the Hub in April...managed to get halfway back behind the Cheddar Curtain (eastern Indiana) which at least got me home weekends.  Wrapping up that project with installs in Saudi beginning in 2Q'13, but I'm now home 50% of the time, which is all good.

Sold the baby g to my cousin...retaining "buy-back" rights, of course...As much as I love the ST, I can still hear the siren call of a mid-sized 'cycle that will handle forest service trails and still carry my over-sized carca$$ on down the road.

I agree...some guy was about to come up from LA to get it...offered 2500...I was going to throw in whatever gear i have that fit him but he bought one local instead Sad

to be truthful if it was going to be ridden a long distance i would feel safer if the buyer had a tire installed...or I could remove and take it in for new tire purchase

You're obviously a tall fella....your riding gear would swamp my measly 5'10" frame....plus I have gear already.

My ride home would be 2,000+, so  new tire is a definite. It's a very tempting deal....my brain is seriously chewing through the variables, but the tire bumps up the price quite a bit. Plus, airfare and gas. On the plus side, I have a buddy in LA that I could go visit.  Smile

My biggest obstacle is that I'm very much a touchy-feely kind of guy (don't take tha the wrong way)....and the thought of buying something sight-unseen and then trusting it for a 2K ride spanning 3 days for a first ride makes me somewhat nervous....

That's why you put Bubbles in an airplane for the flight to LA...let him sweat it out back to your driveway...and you have a great 'cycle with all of the time / none of the pressure associated with riding it cross-country with time restrictions hanging overhead.

All for the cost of a one way airline ticket, some gasoline, and 10# of beef jerky...

If you still have it by Veteran's Day weekend (Nov. 9-11), I may come down and make a deal with you. Small chance I could do it sooner (Oct. 27-28) but the first date is more likely.

It's between this and a KLR right now.  Bigok

I've had bikes similar to the Bandit before (my GSX650F and two 90's 750 Nighthawks) and I can't decide if I want more of the same, or something completely different.

Off I go to research that generation of Bandito some more...  Wink

I've been looking for a smaller lane splitter to join the GS in the garage.

I was thinking about a Euro built mid size, but this could be fun and at 1/2 the price - something to think about.

Any issues i should know?  Looks like a low mileage bike with lots of fun left in it.

I know they wheelie and squid pretty well when asked...

the only issue is that it will need a front tire soon... and maybe some weather stripping around the windscreen and frame..for some reason ONLY at 3500 rpm it buzzes...above or below not a peep.....it does love to live around 5-7500 rpm though..its most happy there

and on the link/pic you can see the ~dime sized scratch/abrasion on the right side of the fairing....

still runs strong.....
and its only wheelied once slightly..on accident...almost caused a rectal vacuum that ripped the seat

HALF the money, Dave...  1/2 the money and in some cases, way more power.  Butter smooth, dead reliable, gobs of aftermarket, simple to work on, dealer network, perfect ergos, parts availability, HUGE weinernet support system, and best of all - the torque.  It's a total sleeper.  It doesn't look fast so you're not a target.  My favorite thing about this bike is the roll on at speed.  75 mph in top gear and it will still take you by surprise when you open the throttle.

Take last years annual comp package, convert it to an hourly wage and do the math on how long you'd have to work to pay for this bike.  Uh huh.

Oh, and for the scrooge in you, you'll easily get your money back at this price and you know it.
