Nice video!
What was the 'catastrophic engine failure' you alluded to?

At 156,000 one of the cylinder liners cracked. The liners are not replaceable on the FJR (it's just a nikasil coating) so replacing the crankcases was required. She has over 4,000 miles on the rebuilt engine and hopefully lasts another 150k...

Well, I should hope so!
I've had my FJR for a few months and have 4K on mine, so I have a way to go!

I don't baby this bike. It gets ridden daily (sold the car 2 years ago) and it gets ridden hard. If you keep up with the maintenance the FJR is damn near indestructable.

Well-done, sir; the brights on the Feejer were impressive.

I gotta ask, how did you survive Monday?

Lol, I'm using some 4" offroad HID auxillary lights :-)

I don't work on Mondays, so I got to have a nice lazy day lounging around the house...

Cool video, sort of a Long Way Round The Peach.  Bigok

Only 59 miles short of a SS1K. Coulda made a double whammy.  Smile

Man that's a way better title, I should have consulted the forums before editing :-)

Just did a ss2000 a few weeks ago, I've moved on from certifying ss1000's. They have become almost routine for me. I concentrate on the rallies mostly these days, and only really certify rides over 1,500 miles.

Nice video. At 5:50, is that the Sidney Lanier Bridge in the Golden Isles area of Eastern Georgia?
