I've sworn to never do another charity ride as long as I live. I'd rather just make a donation than sit in a pirate parade going 20 mph from nowhere to nowhere, but this sounds like it could be pretty cool.

This is NOT a pirate parade. Not that there is anything wrong with that. It's just not our thing. Our thing is 300 miles of mountain twisties or 240 miles of mountain twisties and dirt, plus three good meals, a little music and a nice prize.

This what some others have said about this ride.

I'm with you on the 'typical charity ride' thing but this is no doubt different. I've saved all of my DH500 route sheets from years past so I could follow them again (the rides are that good). Always seem to take a few roads I haven't been on (which isn't many as far as N. GA goes). Thinking jfurf might even join us this year (Joel ??)...

I would agree this is not the normal charity parade type ride.  I too have saved many of the trip sheets for future rides and have added many to my normal mountain rides.

Then this is for you...........................In orther words......it's like a normal day of riding for us (you know how we roll Bobby Smile) with some bonus perks thrown it. Trust me, you and the wife will be hooked after you ride one.
I was out of work since 09 and never missed this. Yes, it's a good cause but.......it's FUN!

You get a map of roads that are less traveled. YOu have gas stops where you collect your Poker Card. You have a catered type cookout lunch at Vogle SAtate Park. You ride some more and collect more Poker Cards. At the end of the ride is either STEAK or chicken which you grill yourself. Raffles, drawings, and helping a great cause will make you go home with a sense of time well spent.

BANDIT of course......Black K8 w/ABS...'nough said

Life free and ride hard because you never know when you'll be called up for that final ride. Go out doing what you love.

I'm hoping to go. I've been RIDICULOUSLY busy lately with some projects but the DH500 is a good time and it's for a good cause.
