Remember it is now nearly thirty five years old.

If you were buying a thirty five year old car you would expect to have to spend substantial money on it. The bike will be no different.

If you don't mind having a "project" bike go for it. It is a least a Guzzi so should be simple work. Smile

Wonder how hard getting parts for it would be though...

All the *Important* stuff for older Guzzis is readily available. All mechanicals etc can be pretty much guaranteed to be on your doorstep in a couple of days in the USA. Some parts like tinware etc. are getting harder to find but generally availability is very, very good. In many cases better than for 'New' bikes.

I know a bloke a few miles from me who has several garages full of old Guzzis. And, yes, the supply of parts is very good still.

However, this one looks a better bet. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160879544509?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

How about this one?  http://www.ianellison.org.uk/Guzzi_SPIII.jpg

Moto Guzzi Spada SPIII.

1989, metallic green, 54000 miles IIRC, been in storage for some time.
Starts easily and runs very well, brakes binding a little due to standing,
slight exhaust blow from the right hand head joint. Might need a few other
minor jobs to recommission but I've run it up and down the lane and it was
fine.   Comes with a full set of 3 large modern Givi cases and rack
installed. Yours for about £1300
