so...apparently these are available in Australia and will be in the US soon.  The motor seems to be a Kawasaki knockoff.  Initial reviews seem positive.  Would you give it a try for say...$6k?

No dealer network
No known reliability
No aftermarket support
To much plastic to (try and) replace if it goes over

I kinda like it, but think it'll need to be bigger than 650 to push that much fairing.
And I don't trust China build or materials quality

Good looking bike. I'd say that's about what a lot of people here have been yakking about lately.

A Connie/RT/FJR/Trophy looking thing with a small powerplant in a lighter chassis.

I'd certainly take one for a test ride.  Thumbsup

Same here.

I would love to see an ST / FJR / Sprint / or GSX-FA in a 650/750 category.  Yes, I ride a B12, but in all honesty I do not use/need all the power it has and I strongly suspect very few others really do.  They may say they do but.................

It's just what I'm looking for and pretty much what I have converted my Ninja 650 into.  If the motor is an exact copy of mine that would be great.  I have 86,000 miles on it.

Pretty much exactly what people thought when Japenese bikes first started arriving.  The build quality seems better the multitude of grey market scooters you can find for under $1k.

I like the appearance and the idea of a lightweight tourer.  I would be curious to see a long term test.

The only issue I see is... are these bikes really THAT much cheaper than their Japanese counterparts? The new Honda NT700 is only like 7 grand. Same for the Kawasaki 650s and Kawasaki dealers seemed to be practically giving away Er-6ns before they were discontinued.

So at what price point do people go for the Chinese bike? I'd say it's got to be at least $2000 to $2500 less.

Considering that I've put another $2K into my Ninja 650, with Bill's seat, Givi cases, Zero Gravity windscreen and heated grips........if the Chicom bike had no need for any of these it would be a bargin at $7K.  

Build quality, reliability, and parts availablility would be the deciding factors.  

Looks like the Chinese are following the Japanese pattern.......first cheap bikes, then bigger bikes, and then cars and trucks.

as to dealer net works someone needs to try a thing called google .
there are dealers  and have been for awhile there is one here in South Dakota in the small town of Mitchell.
so maybe we should look be fore we state that there is no dealer network.

Unless one is is filty stinking rich or ingnorant of who to spin a wrench, or expecting warranty service on a bike, what's the big deal about a dealer network?

Dealers stock darn near nothing. They have to order just about everything, anyway, and they only seem to order one day a week. Therefore, there's a 3-10 day wait for parts. Dealers around here charge shipping on ordered parts. They also charge MSRP and sometimes more for parts that are hard to get. Dealers always charge sales tax, around here, knocking on 10%. The closest dealer is a 35 mile round trip to pick up the parts

I can order OEM parts online for about 2/3 MSRP. Aftermarket parts go for 1/3 to 1/2 OEM MSRP. Shipping is the same as a dealer charges for ordered parts. No sales tax if ordered from out of state. Delivered to my door in 1 to 3 days.

just talked with dealer in mitchell sd
650nk  $5999.  650 tr $7999.
as for date some time late jan to mid feb.
sabertires .  is cfmoto dealer has been selling 4 wheeler and side by side for a few years .
at this time has 1 nk on order.
