Hello From The South West
«

Thought I'd just chime in and say hi. Travelling across the land on the NTX and lovin it. Seeing lots of wildlife but non more bizarre than this.
Whales, Walrus, Invasive Species? Guess again.
Yes folks, that's right, Nuns! A whole herd (flock?, gaggle?) Swimming off Gaspe'
They were staying at the motel I stopped at and these amazing ladies were actually out there for over half an hour! And that water was chilled! Maybe they had some drysuit type of Habit. But, more power to em. Or should I say, God love em.

I thought if they floated that made them a witch? Clearly I am a bit behind in my religious readings.

The problem I'm finding with all the well known spots is they are overflowing with old fuddyduddies. There are such overabundances of turistos (at the end of Sept. yet) that I asked in a couple of places and was told it's all about the fall colors. It's the leaves, man.

Ahh, Bubba ya shoulda been there. Ran into this airshow at Jacksonville Beach. Caught the F22.
Soooo amazing. I mean this guy was doing controlled flat spins, tailwalks, standing on his tail for a good 15 seconds, thruster turns that made the Millinium Falcon seem old.
Then a couple of flybys with is little buddy (and it weren't Gilligan)
Loved it.
Got my tour of Warbirds Museum and Kennedy Space Center planned out for today and got the Garmin loaded to take me all the way, coastal, to Key West.
Cheers,
Toad

I have seen a fly-by of an F22 but never a full demo. So yeah, warm beaches and an airshow? Colour me jealous as hell !

And now greetings from Panama City Beach where I'm holed up till Dec. 8th before carrying on to Arizona by way of the gulf coast.
Been swimming a couple of times. Floridians say it's cold but it's really warmer than Arrow Lake in the summer.
And the sunsets are killer.
Pure white soft sand
And crystal clear water.

Enjoy Doug! If you get a hankering to reenact Prince and the Pauper, from a weather perspective, I will happily trade ya for a wee touch of November in the Koots.
I want the address of that place you are staying in. I figure a month in the semi tropics, in November would be right up my alley !
Enjoy buddy and do give that Norge a chance ... eh?
What does that shop charge for daily/weekly rental ??

Googling the address gets u this;
http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/20212-Front-Beach-Rd-Panama-City-Beach-FL-32413/42803698_zpid/
The place is not for sale, just rental units. Another one downstairs from here at $850 and two more two bedroom units. The owner is Kate who is somewhere up in New England, I think.
717 278 2785. And she'll rent weekly bi weekly, whatever.
This place is not very exciting, pretty deserted right now. If u want peace and quiet, it's definitely along those lines. The ocean is clean and clear and pretty well a desert. Any Northerner can swim in it but I've noticed it getting a little cooler in the last couple of days. Temp is supposed to get back up towards 80 come Saturday so maybe I'll jump in again.
Not like the Keys. But the price is right.
The Norge is a smooth easy rider but has that idle thing happening. Tallahassee is 2 1/2 hrs from here so it's a bit of a ride to get a rental. But, I think Danny would do it. Check out Fasttrixx.com Mine's a loaner so I have no idea the price.
There are prolly other bike dealers in Panama City proper.

Greeting again from PCB as I pack up to head for Arizona.
Sunrise and a pleasant 32 degrees. That's 0 for all u Canuckleheads. At least no wind or thunderstorms (the likes of which I have never seen!) so I can get some distance in.
