Just because there is a burning desire to hear from Larry, I present his thoughts on the thread subject matter via proxy.

I meet Larry briefly when I picked up a set of peg lowering blocks for my VFR  from the now infamous Busy Little Shop.     Seemed like a nice guy to me, great shop/garage with enough equipment and parts to probably assemble a few bikes.   And he had some very cool model airplanes hanging from the ceiling that he builds and flies.   The man had a lot of knowledge to share and after reviewing some his posts I can think of many folks on here that continue to post the same old tired crap and yet they continue to cling to their lame schtick.  Lol     In any case I'm sure Larry's world is still turning without being on ST.N.

Such as?

Then there are the complainers that the CBR doesn't have traction control like [insert boutique bike here].

Is the Kawi ZX10 a boutique bike?
Cuz that bad boy has traction control.

To be fair, back in the 1970s motorcycling was almost a blank slate. People took off the lights and mirrors and presto...instant dirt bike  Lol

Not so easy nowadays to produce an Elsinore or a Gold Wing.

While I love my Viffer, if I were in the position to purchase a true road worthy sport bike, it would be a GSXR750. I have to hand it to Suzuki, they keep pumping this bike out despite the low sales numbers.  Thumbsup

Same here.  I don't own a VFR....yet, but I'm shopping for one.  I have the same thoughts on the GSXR750.

Does anyone have sales numbers to show that the GSXR750 sells in low numbers? I bet Suzuki has no problem selling everyone they make. As for racing, the 750 class is still popular in many clubs and many more club racers purchase bikes than pros.

I love the V4 smoothness. My '02 VFR800 doesn't suffer from the oft maligned VTEC-hit. (either that, or I don't think it's a big deal)
Sure it's a heavy pig, but shift the focus to a supersport and most of that weight will leave.

Had a '03 ST1300 and it was astoundingly smooth.

I likely won't be in the market for either a ST V4 bike, nor a SuperSport with a V4, but, it'd still be nice to see Honda attack the leading edge instead of being comfortable floating behind it.

Well the last comparison I read with liter class bikes the '12 Honda CBR1000RR came in at the top.  This from a bike without traction control aids.  The bike did it with plain old careful tuning of chassis and powertrain working together (and with a power deficit compared to its competitors to boot).

Exciting news!!!  I don't want, nor can I afford a RC213 street bike but if it gets built doors will (hopefully) open in regards to realistically priced VFR750's or VFR800's such as Honda has done in the past.

I need a modern stable mate for my VFR750's

I didn't click the asphalt and rubber link, but here's a link with the Head of Product Planning and Development for Honda in which he confirms the price.
