FJR's are built like a tank, but not as heavy as say a Honda ST1300, or BMW K1200RS/GT.

All I know is my FJR helped save my life when I collided with a deer at 55 MPH last week. I walked away from this.

Did you take that pic?

There was a guy named GalaxyBlue on the FJR Forum that was a trucker and took his bike along with him.

I have heard that when you ride an FJR it is like taking your truck with you....

You’re looking at it wrong.  It’s in case the truck breaks down.

The Gen-1 (which that is) is lighter than the Gen-2 by a fair margin, lighter by almost 100lbs than the C14, Well over 100lbs lighter than the ST1300, 200lbs lighter than the K1200LT, and only 30 lbs heavier than the R1200RT.

I really don't understand you sissies who think it's too heavy.  Headscratch

True, but I guess my point is that while it's a large, heavy bike, and frankly a far more enjoyable ride than most of the others in its class, it's the only one that seems to get this particular bashing.

I don't get it. Shrug

Unless it's just a dig at the old men who buy them and end up crashing them because they're in over their heads riding a real bike after moving up from something from 1912.  Lol

Just like in the special ed class- there is always the one kid who gets picked on more than anyone else. No reason, fate just decided it.

The FJR is the Corky of the retarded motorcycle group.

But not every FJR comes with a creep doll. So there's that.

The FJR is a feather weight compared to the like of most of the other sport Touring bikes....

Even as an ST owner I can tell you why the Yami catches so much flak. All the Light sport bike guys that tour on them are JEALOUS that the Yami Pilots end the day upright and ready for more.

Not everyone wants a disposable razor.....Some of us like a handfull of Metal!

I would have enjoyed my OTR time alot better if I could have fit my Connie on the trailer like this driver did!

Last week I rode my FJR to North Carolina from Central Ontario. When I left, it was 3C and pouring rain - for 300 miles. You know how many other bikes I saw on the road that day? 1 and that poor bastard looked like a  pirate popsicle. The next day, we slabbed it from near Toronto to Marietta Ohio. At the end of the day, we ran some of SE Ohio's best.  The next day, we ran backroads from Marietta all the way to NC. My tires were toast. PR3's had about 13,000 miles on them. Got a screamin' deal on a set of new Conti Road Attack 2 GT's. Spent 3 days riding the absolute piss out of NC and my FJR. On Monday, I rode from just south of Asheville to Toronto, all slab. 900 miles. The next day, I rode the final 300 miles home. It didn't miss a beat the entire time.

You know what I did when I got home?

I went for a ride!

Ya, it's a big dirty whore. But when the time comes I'll seriously consider replacing it with another FJR.  But I don't think that will be for a while yet. It's only got a hair under a 100,000 miles on it. Barely broken in.

Oh, here's another land yacht pic just for you. Taken from the front, probably the only time most of you have seen anything other than the rear of an FJR.
