I was surprised that Suzuki didn't stuff the Hayabusa motor in a sport tourer years ago.
Now they should bump that motor to 1400cc and put in a restyled Busa and an all new ST to compete with Kawi, etc.

Really surprised to see something new in the works from Suzuki. Don't understand the following comment from the Asphalt & Rubber article:
With this concept said to be coming into production in 2014, the question is then whether if Suzuki is too late to the party. We imagine pricing will play a huge part in this equation, as the Suzuki V-Strom 1000 could be a serious contender if Suzuki can get the price low enough in the North American and European markets.
. It seems to me Suzuki has been at the party for several years with the stroms 650 & 1000. Those bikes my not have all the bells and whistles but they are affordable useful devices.

I've been wishing for that for a long time. my wife loved riding pillion and misses it. maybe we'll buy another in a couple years, or can we hope Suzuki will deliver? if not, i guess i can make the current Busa a nice ST

Ya know... there are a plethora of existing (and new) models available from about 25 other manufacturers, right? I mean, the Busa is an awesome machine, but it's not an ideal choice for a 2-up distance bike.

problem is, the other machines have issues that my wife and i do not want... we toured quite a bit on the Busa and loved it. she wasn't so enamored of the FJR....wish i would have stuck with the Busa. oh well, live and learn. it's soo tough having to look at bikes once again.

I think the implication is that moto division R&D money that would have been used to update/create new models was being used to try to keep the auto division alive. So, if that was the case, maybe there is hope that the motorcycle division can invest in itself again.

What's Suzuki *really* missing from their lineup?
They have their take on everything, and the things they're missing are things that are already entrenched (ie, Goldingwing, Electraglide).
I don't see that they're really missing anything (that people whining wouldn't buy anyway).
