Halcyon days of youth...

Without going into details, I'm in Greeley CO right this week, job hunting in Longmont, Loveland and surrounding areas. Obviously though, going door to door doesn't exactly work if you don't know where to start looking, so my job hunts are rather curtailed.

What is there interesting to do here for a lone man with a bike and a slim wallet? I'm no stranger to the area, I just need something to distract me from my lack of prospects for the moment...

I'll shoot ya a PM and offer a dinner at one of the downtown Fort Collins places.

What to do - cycle up the St. Vrain Canyon (west southwest from Lyons CO) as that's perhaps my favorite canyon road in the area.

Go for a ride up CO-14, take a left at Stove Prarie and stay on the road and you'll end up on Harmony Road in western Fort Collins.

Take a Centennial Road drive - it's the road at the eastern edge of the Horsetooth Reservoir.

Budweiser brewery (I-25 just north of Fort Collins) offers free tours or you can just stop in to see the horses - this facility is for training the young horses and IIRC a retirement spot for the old ones.

In Greeley there is a GREAT model train layout downtown, if you're into model trains or just wish to blow some time. Entrance fee of $6, Hours: Friday & Saturdays: 10 AM - 4 PM, Sunday: 1 PM - 4 PM  Greeley Freight Station Museum

Downtown Loveland has a western museum & gallery (NWC or Lincoln/287 & 5th).

Drive up to Estes Park on US-34 but take the "right fork" at Drake and route through Glen Haven. The bonus is going up a narrow canyon between Glen Haven and Estes you pop over a ridge with a FANTASTIC view of the mountains beyond Estes Park.

The one and almost only place! And like Justin wrote, the road in, out, or through isn't bad either.
