Maybe we should all wear some identifying article so that we can avoid those inadvertent meetups...can't be too careful now.  Lol

so, i just got back from this thing...

that'sa pretty badass track  Thumbsup

it's pretty hilly, you'll need to be at really high ground to get a sense of its shape... down low it
has tons of blind hills and turns. it feels completely different from what i was specting out of the track's map...
turn number 1, thay'll need a ladder to get through that one  Bigsmile

the first section of the track up to turn 11 reminds of a hilly backroad (the section around turn 10 it's pretty cool...it would be a blast to ride that!), the second half of the track feels more like a proper race track, specially from 12 to 19, that section looks technical as heck too.

it was cool, the place looks pretty much done, can't wait for the GP race  Bigok

I want to send my wife to this (birthday present) , however I cannot go.  We are trying to get some of our friends up here to commit to go with her, but if that falls apart I might need to ask help from someone here to pick her up at hotel and bring her to the track?

Haven't nailed down a hotel yet, usually we stay at Marriott's but she is open to staying closer to some of you guys, or even staying in same hotel.

Oh, and yes she is a huge race fan, been attending races with me since 1989, she knows her stuff...just doesn't do will with driving in strange cities Smile

There are a lot of us staying at the Microtel at the airport.  Of course, it's not as nice as the Marriott, but I'm sure she can grab a ride to and from with us.

just reserved room at the Marriot next to you guys.   I also got one at the Residence Inn (2 bedroom suite with Kitchen) about 10 miles north of you guys.  If she cant get one of our friends to go down with her she will stay near you all.  If that is the case she would need to rely on someone to drive her to track and back. ..she  says if someone commits to be her driver she will buy breakfast every morning and treat for one dinner.

You guys have seen her breakfast photo's on the breakfast thread, no?

I don't know how I missed this one. I'm in with GA tickets. I'm staying in the Stiener Ranch area with family. I'd be up for a dinner meet if something comes together.

I'll be in the area for a little over a week. I might rent a bike for a couple days to explore the hills.

I think that would be OK. Just as long as we don't do an official ST.N meet-up at the track

change of plans, Mrs. OSJ isn't traveling alone!!

I'm coming with!!!

So looks like we arrive in Austin Late Friday night, and fly back to New England Monday morning.  We still have room reserved at the Marriot near you guys.  Haven't purchased our tickets yet, still have some questions and the people at COTA must be on vacation or sleeping late because they don't respond to email, Facebook or even answer the phone? Anyone have any luck with contacting them?

One question I have for COTA is about a shuttle.  I guess during the F1 race they ran a shuttle from downtown, but I don't know if that will be on for motogp and what the cost was, or if the shuttle stops at different places along the way?
