For sale is my adult ridden 1998 Ducati ST2. All maintenance has been completed per recommendations and the bike runs strong. It has new Dunlop Roadsmarts, newer battery, fresh oil/filter (always full synthetic), fully adjustable Ohlins rear shock ($1000+;huge upgrade), Ferracci carbon fiber exhaust and fuel management chip ($1000+), taller/tinted Zero Gravity windscreen ($100+), bar risers for a more comfortable riding position ($50), throttle lock, Yoyodyne clutch slave cylinder ($200), K&N air filter ($75), STM crankcase breather ($100), carbon fiber clutch cover ($100), Dzus quick release fairing fasteners ($100+), upgraded voltage regulator ($100+), headlight switch, original Ducati owners and workshop manuals, removable hard bags with removable liners. Valve adjustment and cambelts serviced approximately 1,500 miles ago.

The bike is a pleasure to ride and has been my commuter on nice days. Reading Ducati forums online, there are ST's that have 50k, 75k, even 100k miles that are still running great, so this well cared for and gently ridden bike with under 19,000 miles has tons of life left in it.
- the asking price is $3500 and it has been on CL for at least a month....

Opinions are welcome...   Thumbsup Thumbsdown Headscratch

Well, I'm no Ducati expert in any way. KBB shows $2,970 for excellent retail at the dealer, but that doesn't include the options he has listed.

The Ducatista can probably help you out more than I. Seems like a decent bike, especially with the upgrades and the mileage. The only thing that stood out to me was that the chain seems to be neglected which could be indicative of other neglect. Or maybe it's just a bad picture. Who knows?

Good luck with finding out more info!   Thumbsup

Seems like a low price to me; I've seen newer STs with more miles and fewer upgrades for $4k+. I'd be tempted.... I've always wanted to own a Duc but have seen too many broken down with weird electrical or other problems. I'ma skeered.

It seems like a descent bike... w/ that being said, it's been for sale for at least 3 months. It was for sale when I was looking for a 3rd bike & my friend that sold me my '95 Duc SS/CR that I bought instead looked at it as a replacement for his but decided to buy a different ST2. I can't really give you any other advice on top of that but if was me I would consider other options, but that's just my opinion. Good luck to you in your search. Cheers

I noticed the chain as well, and the fact that it has been for sale for a bit.  I like the farkles, and the ST2 is supposed to be simple and solid (for a Duc) but I really don't like silver, especially on a seksi Eye-talian bike.  An off-center red stripe might do wonders on that note, though.  Well, no rush...  getting to be winter in any case.
