I have been ridding the XChallenge like I stole it. Hard throttle, off road excursions, and constant 70-80mph cruising. I filled it Sunday and it took 3.13 gallons for exactly 180 miles (fill up to fill up). Overall I'm very satisfied, and it beats filling the Tundra.

I put just over 4000 miles on my Tundra last year. Low enough that I can skirt the emissions testing.

This is one of the reasons I loved my F650GS (back when the 'F' version was the single-cylinder) - incredible mileage and it's loads of fun. The only thing I didn't like was that the engine felt strained over 70 mph (plenty of revs left, just didn't have the heart to make the engine work any more!).

I don't know enough yet about them if the motor in the F650GS is the same or different then the one in the G650X. I've had it up to 90 indicated and it felt plenty capable of doing the ton.

I've been trying to get through that thread. What an amazing tale so far!
I'm going to hit the Touratech website as cash allows. As many of you know, it's not hard to spend money on that site.
