I am surprised it passed but then with the "first 40 million in taxes to be used for schools"... We're doing it for the kids. Without that carrot, no pass.

There was no way to predict who would vote for it.  Our county is extremely conservative, voted Republican all the way, but passed the MJ amendment.  And from talking to my friends, you couldn't tell on the basis of age, sex, marital status, political outlook or employment status.  Some of the strongest advocates of legalization were, like me, retired.
