My wife's 2006 CB 250 Nighthawk needs a new clutch, so I got the bits and pieces and started the job.

As I began the work I had to stop, as I didn't yet own a clutch nut socket.

While fiddling with the clutch plates, this one piece fell out from "no where".  More specifically, I perceived it to fall from the front of the clutch plate area.

I've been snooping the fiche on bikebandit.com, but have not yet nailed down what this bit is, or where it belongs.  Any assistance?

I'd agree. Look at the case, does it have a spot on it that would press / hold in that part?

So the shaft coming out at the place written "3-18" with the nut on the end is the crankshaft itself, and this looks like it presses on the end of that (for what reason?)  and is held by the crankcase cover.

It's called an "Oil Through"?  WTF??  I guess I'm not bright enough to understand it, but I can put it back now that I know where it goes!!!

Thank you all !!!

The spring is still on the item - as you can see in the photo, unless..... there's another one?

Hmmmm.  I won't be at the garage until Tuesday.
