American Suzuki is filing/has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.  According to this article, they are closing shop for their automotive arm, but intend to continue building bikes.

As it turns out, we've owned more Suzukis than any other brand (3/9 bikes I've owned, and all three of SO's bikes).

Let's hope they toss some of that failing investment money they were throwing at cars in to new bikes!  Smile

Suzuki is still building cars. They are big sellers in Asia. They just won't be sending any to America. They have said they will be increasing the focus on bikes in America.

The financial troubles aren't because of me.  4 of the 6 bikes I've had are Suzukis.

The problem is with US Suzuki, not Suzuki (Japan).
US Suzuki was set up as a separate entity years ago and is where the problems lie.
We may see Suzuki (Japan) emerge to service the US market.

It's my fault had the same suzuki for 10 years. If they weren't made so good, I might have to buy one more often.
