This started as a BMW Riders rally but has morphed into more than that. This year will be my third time and I ride a Bandit 1250 -I tell them they'll come around sooner or later.

I normally stay with family but this year I'm staying with the crew at the Dunes.

I'm staying Friday and Saturday and coming home Sunday. - So who's coming?
===========================================================================================================

Here are details from a local site:

Here are details for the 2012 Tybee Island Rally. This has turned out to be tradition for a few of us on BSB. If you like riding, good friends, cold beer, and great food, well this weekend is for you. Everyone is welcome. Below are the official details of the trip which I pulled from the web. This use to be a BMW Rally, but all types of bikes arrive for the weekend. We usually see 50-80 riders depending on weather. If you want to hang with BSB'ers here is our normal routine for the weekend:

We will depart Friday, November 30 around 10am for the ride to Tybee. The rally has had some request to switch hotels this year for some nicer accommodations. The official hotel details are below, but our group has always stayed at The Dunes which has hosted us the past few years. This hotel is convenient to the restaurants and bars without having to ride. We have been known to slightly party.

The Dunes Hotel
1409 Butler Avenue
Tybee Island, Ga
912-786-4591

Friday night we have dinner at Stingrays which is next door to hotel.

Saturday we hit downtown Savannah to take in some sites. Saturday night is the official low country boil which is held on Tybee. Fresh shrimp and all the fixings. The cost is normally $20 for dinner and beer.

Sunday we hit the best eggs benedict place before heading back to Atlanta.

If your interested in joining us for the boil post up. We will ride rain or shine, hot or cold, we have experienced everything the last few years.

Here are the other hotels if you are interested.

November 30th - December 2nd.
LOW COUNTRY BOIL - TYBEE ISLAND 2012

The Boil will be Saturday, December 1st around 6pm

MOTELS:
This year we moved the motel to the north end to be closer to the boil.
We have about 23 rooms at the DESOTO BEACH MOTEL and about 22 at the ROYAL PALM MOTEL
YOU HAVE TO MENTION BMW RIDERS TO GET THE DISCOUNTED PRICE!!!!

DESOTO BEACH MOTEL
212 Butler Avenue
Tybee Island, GA 31328
Reservations: 912-786-4542, Toll free - 877-786-4542

We have 16 Deluxe 2 Queen rooms, 2 Deluxe King, 1 Premier King at $60 per night.
We have 4 Premier Partial View rooms for $80 per night.
Small print for the Desoto:
Based on double occupancy, additional person is $10.00 per night
The is a two night minimum
Cancellation is 1 week before arrival date
Rooms are blocked until Tuesday, October 30th
Must refer to "BMW RIDERS" for discount
Only 1 parking spot per room
No smoking in any of the rooms
No pets
The Desoto rooms will go fast, if you want a room, make your reservation.

ROYAL PALM MOTEL
909 Butler Avenue
Tybee Island, GA 31328
912-786-4763

We have about 20 - 22 rooms blocked off.
Room with 1 double bed is $49.99
Room with 2 double beds or 1 king is $59.99
10% discount if you mention BMW RIDERS

This year we have Breezy Riders running golf cart taxi's so there's no need to drink and drive or to miss the singing sensation Saturday night of Elvis Holland at the south end bars....
$3 per person, full cart for $10
912-665-9988
www.breezy riders.com

Please make your reservations early. We don't have the quantity of rooms available like at the Dunes, but we do have closer motels and I know the Desoto Beach is a lot nicer.
Let me know of any questions, problems or whatever.

Dude!  This looks like a great adventure and a real nice ride.  Wish I could make it but this is just terrible timing for me.  Hope the sun shines on you and the gang!  What a hoot!

I have helped put this motel rally on for 13 years now, we have a great time.  I have never owned a BMW motorcycle so all makes are welcome, hell even cars are welcome if that is what you want.  We don't do much riding.

It is only two weeks away, so come on if you want.

Are you guys coming in Friday or Saturday.  We try to get  a good headcount on Friday to know how much shrimp to buy.  If Saturday just give me a heads up here and I will make sure you are included.

We have never run out of low country boil yet and don't plan on it this year either.  :-)

We served 76 people Saturday.  I hated we didn't all stay at the Dunes.  It will be back there next year and Stingrays again  Thumbsup

Yep, two more years will be 20 and us old farts will retire from putting this on.  Maybe someone else will pick it up.  Glad you made it down again.
