Just took an NC700X out for a test ride. Color me impressed!

It wasn't a super long test ride, but long enough for me to confirm that what I've read in all the reviews are pretty much spot on. Acceleration up to 85 - 90ish is more than sufficient for passing on two lane roads, the bike is quite flickable, and the brakes do an excellent job. My Nolan N90 fit just fine in the "not a gastank" :P I definitely would see a bigger windscreen in it's future if I were to get one.  Sorry so brief, I'm not a real flowery writer though. Smile

p.s.   My Nomad is for sale if anyone is interested. :P

If I had a good Honda dealer nearby ( not a hour ride) i would take a very hard look at this machine. From what I read its a steal and a half at $6999. The Honda dealer I used to deal with is gone . sad they were excellent. , and believe it or not it was the other brand he was carring that helped kill his shop, they were forcing him to expand but there simply wasn't land there to do it and land nearby was MONEY.


Anyway glad to hear someone on here confirm that this is a rockin mid weight. And ps my last Nomad became a Versys .  Wink Thumbsup

Funny....'cuz that's how far I had to go to find one. Smile I have two Honda dealers within 30 minutes of me and neither of them had one. I ended up going to Davenport for the ride and that dealership had just about every Honda imaginable.

We had a discussion about this bike on another forum.  480 wet and 52hp doesn't really do it for me, but if you like it then go for it!   To me there are far better options and I'm blessed to have numerous excellent Euro dealers close by as well as many Big 4 options.

I was impressed by my brief NC700X test ride, too.  The power was a fun amount, and the engine has a nice twin character w/o a lot of vibes.  I ran into the 6500rpm rev limiter more than once - sort of like the short powerband of a Buell XB9/Harley 883 - but once I got used to short-shifting it wasn't a big deal.  The engine felt faster and more responsive than the F650GS single, though I doubt it's actually much faster.  The COG is very low, so handling was very good.  I love the front storage locker, great fuel economy, and the screw-type valve adjustments.
