Great price, down to about $149, I think. It may have an advantage on functions, but the lens and features of the camera itself are not up to the Hero2 and definitely not in the ballpark with the Hero3.
A few years back I bought a VIO-PIO for just under $800. At the time it was the best game in town. The original Hero was about as good as the PIO and again the Hero3 is night and day better. IMO, even though price is never a non-issue, the prices on these cameras is so low now you should check them out and decide what features of the camera give you the quality of output you want first, then look at the add-on's that are available to give it the functionality you need to get those pics. IMO the Astak will improve and will shortly become the equal of or even better than GoPro, but right now, I would get a Hero3 Silver with a LED back panel and a spare battery. If you don't have a cell to run the bluetooth app, get a remote too.
Update: Not sure if GoPro has fixed the problems yet, but there are guys on the Advrider forum and GoPro forum that are having some issues with the Hero3. Maybe a wait before purchase is in order.
