Here's to 2013!
«
on:
January 01, 2013, 12:37:55 PM »
In Seattle, 2013 has begun with a sunny, dry day. It's 42F!
Obviously it's time to go out for a ride.
May the New Year bring quality riding to you and yours--
--and good health, good fortune, and a hunk of spending money for farkling.
Happy New Year, y'all.

Well, it is about 29F here today so a good romp with the dog was in order.
This is lower Arrow Lake
A great way to start 2013
Happy, safe and fulfilling year of riding to you all!

Argh, didn't take a pic but g/f suggested we take a spin on the Ural to go to New Years brunch. A brisk 36F on the way out and 31F on the return.
2013 is off to a good start.

Just a short ride for me today (I took the long way home from having lunch with Peter and the baby) but hey, it's still riding!
Upper 40s and sunny here.

Damn Bimmer guys ostracizing the Ducati...
Ken, Kevin and I got out for a spin around Julien. I saw 40 degrees...Kevin saw 38. I'm pretty sure Ken was the smart one staying in denial about it all.
All in all, a darn fine day!

Robert, how many BMW's have graced your garage?
I consider that self-ostrich, or something like that.

Glendora Mountain Road. Big thanks to Robert & Vern for suggesting it -- a great ride 20 miles from home.

Same here. It's hell just walking the dog right now. Driveway's clear because i keep it that way, but that first turn onto the street and I'd be sliding sideways.

There are strange things afoot at the Circle K.

Doubtless, our STN trio cleaned them out of energy drinks and nuked burritos.
I've never seen a Circle K with one satellite dish, let alone three.

It's been so many years since I could ride on Jan. 1, it felt like an obligation.
As you can tell from the photo, I didn't make it out until late afternoon.
I've only been on that road twice now, but it seems like the best in the neighborhood if you just have a few hours. Is it?

If you were on a bike, you win this particular swimsuit competition (you were not in any kind of swimsuit, right?).
People used to get snowed in for months up there and resort to cannibalism to survive!

CalTrans hadn't completely plowed the parking lot for the overlook so I had to climb up on the snow berm to get the pic. The FJR couldn't put out enough heat that day.
Now that I think about it, I took that photo last week in 2012, not 2013. My bad....
