Went down there Friday, very happy that it wasn't too crowded.  Have to apologize for less-than-beautiful iPhone pics.  Why I left one of the many real cameras at home is a mystery.

My kind of crowded.  Can't enjoy weekend days at NY show anymore.

The Honda CB1100 is not as gorgeous as the not-coming-to-the-us CB1300, but it is pretty.

Honda NC700X

Love the Ducati Hyperstrada.  Still a very funky riding position though.

The Hyperstrada's bags are kind of crappy though.

MotoGP bike display was neat, you could really poke around the bikes.

Colin Edwards' bike fresh from Valencia

I think this was Marc Marquez's Moto2 bike

New Triumph Trophy is quite a big beast

Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club display

Middle-aged white guys flock to the new water-cooled GS  Lol

I guess a winch lets you get stuck even further in the woods?

Harley's sparkle paint (?) looked very...interesting in person

Harley had a bike on rollers that they were using to teach folks how to shift.  I wouldn't buy one of these testers afterwards  EEK!

About 1/3 of the exhibit area was unused.  And this doesn't include space for the XDL stunt show.

Michael Jackson tribute bike.  Good grief.

That looks like our very own Prubert!!!

I had intended to go to the show, but it was on the same weekend I had my kids, so... I stayed local.

2013 Harley, low miles, only transported in truck, and riden on stationary riding machine, like new $20,000 invested will sacrifice for $18,000

so, was any manufacturer missing?

Any notable bikes missing from the show that you would have expected to see?

The Ducati girls don't look too impressive, maybe its just that their clothing was not very flattering.

No Aprilia, no Moto Guzzi, no KTM.  Victory had about 8 bikes in a tiny area off to the side, too close together to swing a leg over.  Triumph had a very respectable showing compared to years past.

Nice pics, Ken.  Was the new trio of 500cc Hondas at the show, like the CB500X?

I would need additional pics to make that assessment.

Yes, they had all the 500's.  Very impressed at that price point.

The Ducati girls were OK, a bit malnourished for my tastes though.  Wink

EBR had one bike in a teeny booth at Long Beach. Would have been easy to walk past it; in fact, I missed it my first time through.

I've read it costs well into six figures for an OEM to have a booth at all the IMS events. Thats probably more than Moto Guzzi makes in North America  Lol.  Anyway, no way MG, Aprilia or EBR could burn those resources on the shows.

Zero (electric bikes) had an exhibit.  One of the former Buell engineers/designers now works for Zero.  Is that close enough?  Bigsmile

Ken, sorry but I probably wouldn't have had a chance to talk while the show was on.  We ran 240 people thru the unit, it was going almost continuously.

We put almost 200 miles on that bike over the weekend!

At least while I was there some of those miles were pretty painful  Lol

That said, I was pretty impressed with the H-D display.  Lots going on, what with the running unit, the "how to pick your bike up" demos, the Fat Boy mule with adjustable seat heights to try, etc.  A lot of opportunities to be actively involved.  The couple reps I talked to were very nice and quite knowledgeable.
