I'm getting ready to take my dud Sidi's to Paul's Shoe Repair in Glen Ellyn for two blown buckles.

Bychance, does anyone have any experience with Paul, good or bad?
Is there any other place I should be taking boots instead?

Any established shoe repair place should be able to fix it. Prices will also depend on how complicated the repair will be.

It's not the destination, but the journey, that counts. A sport-tourer's ride between two points is seldom a straight line. He will often seek the most convoluted route possible to reach his destination.

I just had a boot repaired by:

Twyla Logan
twyla@loganmagicshoecare.com
Logan Magic Shoe Care
3635 Western Ave
Knoxville, Tn.  37921

I got good reports from friends before sending my boot off to them, and they were very prompt and reasonable. If you send them a pic, they'll give you an estimate.

Not as close as the one you have, but I have used this place for several things from MC boot repair to resole of regular boots.

Phone:   (847) 593-9786

They are at the corner of Devon and Arlington Hts road.  In the general area of The offices on Throndale & 53 ( Park Blvd / Pierce Place ).

Well, just an update:  Got the boots back after less than 24 hours.  Total cost for two brand new buckles: $12.

Thumbsup It's not often that I tip someone in the services industry that's not my barber, but this qualified.  Very happy with the job done.
