That ZX-14 ought to help your recuperation no end  Bigok

:rolleyes:Yes, it will help a great deal as soon as it gets here. I finalized the paperwork and then I'm told that the bike is not actually in the shop yet.  Maybe this Wednesday Crazy  Oh well it's still raining, and to tell you a little secret, I'm a little scared to hop back on Sad
But I have to try if nothing else.  I've been riding too long to go out like this.  Oh well, such is life right??

Scary, but great to hear you came out (relatively) OK.

 Bigok

Yes, the only visible signs of the accident is the curled left pinky finger, and the long scars on the arms which I'll just chalk up as battle scars Lol Lol...oh, and the above picture(ha ha)

Welcome back!  Missed ya!   Smile

RB, how's the boat coming along, last I read you had the fuel tank out and was kneed deep in rust (ha ha).  I hope you're almost complete with the maintenance, I know you can't wait to put her back in the water.

Eeesh.... That poor bike looks beyond hope.  Good thing you've got a ZX14 to take your mind off the sorrow Smile  I take it you have some physical therapy still to do?

And I can empathize with being a little apprehensive about hopping back in the saddle after an accident.  Mine was minor, but still had a few butterflies when getting on the replacement bike.  Fortunately a few rides and a 100 miles or so and it was all good-- I'm sure you'll be the same.

You're doing better on your "repairs" than I am.  No tanks delivered, no promise date, no boat.  It's enough to make me want to tease a fat man with a Hostess Twinkie.   Mad2

But enough about me.  How you doin'?

All is well RB, they changed my physical thearpy and gave me two more weeks because I want them to try and straighten my left pinkie finger.  For the moment it's permanently curved which really isn't a problem considering it curves around the clip-ons just fine  Lol  However it's still an eyesore when I'm not on the bike.  Maybe they'll do me a favor and break it this winter so they can reset it.  Bones have healed and the titanium inserts are in for the long haul, can't take them out and make an exhaust Sad  Still can't do a push-up, but all in due time as the doctors say.  Lungs and ticker are back up to 100% capacity  Bigok

Nightmares have passed, but like I said there is still a little fear in me which I guess is kind of a good thing since it's fear that has kept me grounded all these years.  It's a bummer that I missed the season, but that's a mute point considering the heart stopped twice Rolleyes  Oh well, youth and excercise, and I dare not forget the Angels that God sent Thumbsup

All in all, doing well and waiting for my #@$^%&* ride Crazy The new date is Friday.

Look at the bright side, we have had so much rain, the real riding season still has to start so I am hoping for a beautiful August and September with lots of riding.

...and hopefully a golden October and pleasant November like we had last year.

Ninjadad66, glad to hear you're over the worst of it. Perhaps a different type of motorcycle like a supermotard or enduro (e.g. KTM) might be a nice change of pace?

What's up Ralph, I've thought about the KTM once or twice, and I even thought about the new Concours which is still my second choice if the ZX-14 is not in. But to be honest, I'm one of those old young guys (40) that loves to tour on sport bikes.  Now granted the 14 is more sport than tourer, but it suits me just fine. My goal is to finally get that gold wing at 50...we'll see.  But the KTM is a wonderful machine.

What's up ST.Net?  Finally back on the scene with my new ride and a big smile on my face. It finally came down to the C-14 and the ZX-14, I flipped a coin and heads the ZX won. I've put 1600 miles on her and I don't have a complaint to boot.  The 12R was a fine horse in it's own right, but the 14 is a new breed and I like it.

I see I have a lot of topics to catch up on, talk to you guys and gals later.

Thanks man, It's been a long battle back, but it was worth the fight. Still get the shakes when cars get next to me, but I'm working on it. Lol
