Suzuki Canada has just announced a Canadian Special Edition of the Bandit with hard bags and fairing lowers. https://www.sport-touring.net/forums/index.php/topic,17770.0.html

i like the blue over the black too... so an 07 would be my preference.

i wonder if a 1250 will fit in the back of my Z71 short bed with the tailgate closed (appx 80")? reason i ask is i'd like to be able to take this bike to the mountains and pull my 21' travel trailer at the same time. we plan to spend more and more time in the NC mountains in the next few years and even might buy a small piece of dirt and retire up there?

Sounds dreamy.  While you're at it, pick up a DRZ400 for some mild tear-assing about.

Glad you're thinking of coming back to the ST fold, Al.  I knew you wouldn't stay away too long.  Bigsmile

Hey Ken very nice bike! How does she look with the bags off?

If my ST1300 was totaled I'm pretty sure a bandit would have been my next bike. I esp like the look of the Canadian limited edition one.

Givi/Suzuki did a great job with the mounting hardware on this one. It fits tight and looks integrated, and fairly stealth looking. I rode an ST1300 for a couple of years and liked it for what it was. Great for long rides. But I wasn't having as much fun on it as I wanted to and it seemed like a lot of work on short rides and commuting. The Bandit does everything the ST did, with more torque and less weight. Great combination!

well i've been looking for another (lighter/quicker/nimbler) bike, ever since i bought the HD and sold the conc and the thunderbird. i plan (hope) to keep the road king... its paid for and meets 90% of my more simpler m/c needs. i don't see those needs going away anytime soon.

Wow that is nice with the luggage.  Was planning on picking up one this year, but the wife killed that idea and I got the Z750.  Now me and it aren't meant for each other, so as soon as we part ways, I need to look at getting what I wanted.  Took one for a lot drive at a local dealer and I really liked it. Now that it has luggage and lowers, it may trump the FJR (since I was looking at it for the luggage and touring capability) in my bike search.  Now only to convince the wife....

If it helps, you can tell her that when I suggested it to my wife, and that it was $3,000 more than what I was going to buy, she said: "Go for it. What's $3,000 over 5 years?"

Like all bikes, it depends on type of riding and how hard I'm riding. If I'm touring and not pushing it hard, I'm getting 50-52. Around town or with a more spirited throttle hand it's between 40-45.
