Ummm....ouch. Crazy

We were in Idaho this weekend.  A state with no helmet law.  I just don't get how guys can ride down the highway at 70 with only a pair of sunglasses on.  Regardless of what happens when your head hits the pavement at 70, what about all the bugs, wind, rocks, etc? Rolleyes

I know, holy shit!  It's cleaved right down the middle.  As nasty as it looks, it wouldn't surprise me if they could just bolt that back together, though.  Go though the mouth, cut the inner lip away from the bone, put a bracket on the front of the mandibula, drill, screw, etc...

More serious are the eye sockets, IMO.  Good god those are f-ed up.  And that giant crack running from his maxilla up to his forhead.   Crazy  Can you imagine what the soft tissue injuries must have looked like?

"The vertex (top) and posterior skull are not damaged. These portions were excluded in the initial scan and appear as though they are missing on the 3D rendering. "
Hmmm...weren't protecting much, either.  (Sorry, I just have to think anyone who can't understand the importance of protecting their brain with a helmet might not have that much to protect in the first place.  But then again, maybe I'm just a wuss.)

First of all nothing short of a full face helmet would have stood a chance of preventing that sort of damage.

I'm always glad a buddy of mine that was from the 1/2 helmet club (this is NJ after all) got hit by a huge bee just below his sunglasses at about 80.
You could not tell if he had been stung or hit with a baseball bat it was so black and blue.

Now he won't ride pretty much anywhere without a full face.
