Pretty cool interactive graphic showing how the top 100 rented movies are shipped around some big cities.

Pick a city, then use the slider across the top to change movies, put your cursor on the zip code to see the list.  For example:  New in Town was huge in Minneapolis...not so much anywhere else. Lol

Oh God, do I live in a dumb Zip Code.  No wonder I get movies so fast, nobody else is watching them.

Saw that yesterday ... very cool visualization. It's impressive how Benjamin Button rates in the top 3 virtually everywhere (at least in my vicinity).

Also, Netflix must have a deal with the USPS ... the turnaround it amazing.

That visualization was great!   There is so much to be gleaned from it on so many levels!

In the greater NYC area it actually breaks down well into stereotypes for the different communities/boroughs.

For example, Vicki Christina Barcelona (a woody allen movie) was much more popular in Manhattan and wealthier suburbs.

Defiance, about Jewish-Polish resistence in WWII showed well in historically Jewish communities.

In some markets when the USPS scan that it has received a title it send that info to Netflix and they send out your next movie before it reaches there shipping centers.

That's nice, but can it be made into jerky?

For further insight into your Netflix rentals vs. those of the average Netflixer, check out http://feedfliks.com

At first the FeedFliks gathering of information might seem a little invasive, but it is a sanctioned app from Netflix: http://www.netflix.com/AppGallery

You can tell all sorts of interesting things, such as I am paying the equivalent of  $0.94 per DVD  or $0.13 per title if Instant Watching is included.

I keep DVDs an average of 6 days (that includes delivery and return time).  And I've rented 574 DVDs since my join date of January 2006.
