Title: Scotland: 3 Days to ride the West Coast
Post by: Cameleer on July 11, 2017, 08:02:53 am
Hi everyone, I have 3 full days to ride out of Glasgow. Can anyone recommend a route to take, must-sees and places that I should spend the two nights at?

Cheers and thanks!

Suggestions:
A82 out of Glasgow past Loch Lomond/Crianlarich/Tyndrum (Green Welly pitstop!), nip over to Oban for munchies.
Backtrack to Tyndrum and ride through Glencoe - essential. Overnight at Fort William perhaps.

Make your way to Mallaig for the Skye ferry and have a spin round the island. Back over the Kyle of Lochalsh, follow the coast north to Ardarroch and look for the pass to Applecross - Bealach Na Ba. You can book the pub at Applecross for accommodation if your lucky!

Then make your way north to Ullapool and then you have a choice of either following the coast up to the north coast, nipping in and out and you see fit or take the A835 over to Inverness, follow Loch Ness back to Fort Augustus, Fort William and back through Glencoe.

There are many other possibilities but you can't do everything. Safe travels and enjoy the motorcycling Nirvana that is the Scottish Highlands.

PS - Don't stop unless you have Midge nets or preferably a full blown beekeepers outfit!

You're welcome!

Just remembered why I don't normally post answers to questions on this board!
