Title: Bought me a Touareg Post by: Oxblood on December 28, 2017, 11:11:04 am So,
After 5 years of having only my M/C for getting around, I thought it was time to get 4 wheels again. To that end, I went and done got me a 2015 VW Touareg with the 3.6L VR6 FSI motor. Nice vehicle. Funnily enough, fitting bikes in the back and family in the front was the main reason I ended up with my quad cab Dakota. It's getting a lot of km on it, and I don't really see anything comparable out there...may find another lower mileage example when this gets too tired. I can't see owning anything that isn't European or Dodge, for very different reasons...lol. But, given the prices people are asking for a 15 to 20 year old vehicle I just could not justify getting one. Then this little beauty showed up at Cowell VW. 2 year old lease return with only 18,780 km on it. I could not walk away and pulled the pin. Last year was very cold and icy and I wound up riding the bus. This year there has really only been one or two days so far where riding would have been sketchy. Large cargo area behind the second row of seats, roof rails installed at the factory so a rack system would be easy, and it has a factory installed tow system, so a trailer hitch compatible bike rack would be very easy to install. Had it almost 2 weeks now, and I am rather enjoying it. Now looking to get some mods to make it more suitable for off roading.
