I just slabbed it up past Sendai. Credit to the FJR it makes 500km highway a doodle.
Next day superb exploring Mt Hachimantai and abandoned buildings.
Then on to Aomori via Lake Towada.
Ferry was easy, scan my print out then immediate boarding.
Had nap and woke up to cold and rain before landing.
Sun came out Lake Toya. Glorious ride around the lake. Made me feel like this.
Fine and hot around Furano. Route 452 one of the best roads in Hokkaido.
Next day patchy rain. Usually always dry in Hokkaido in summer.

However, an 0900 Thursday morning check in time and never having been to Liverpool meant that I had to get underway at the crack of dawn. Worried that I would miss the ferry, I hardly slept a wink that night. Before the sun had risen, I was underway to Liverpool. Due to my early departure, I beat the rush hour traffic and after a few wrong turns (no GPS) and with the helpful directions from a bus driver, I made it to the ferry docks with plenty of time to spare.
