Old member, but back after an 8 year hiatus from motorcycles.  Had a daughter, now shes 9 years old, I have a longer commute and stressful job so motorcycle is a nice escape on nice days.

Iíve owned a...
CBR600F4i
ZX9R
KLX250S
BMW1150R
BMW1200RT

And now... drum roll... a new 2015 CBR300R.   Bet you didnít see that comming.  Got it for $3348 OTD with one mile on the clock 2 weeks ago.  Getting about 60mpg, fun, crusies at 70mph just fine and the easiest bike to ride and smoothest gearbox IíVe ever ridden.   Just a really fun, practical machine, and thatís the point isnít it.

Now Iím taking up the challenge of making it a descent machine for longer rides, maybe even weekend trips.  It has potential.

Uniontown, MO, not far from the Mark Twain National Forest. I try and get down there a couple times a year, usually riding southwest out of Potosi. Some great county roads and of course state routes 32 and 49. Always make a stop at the Bixby General Store. Must be nice to have such good riding nearby. Welcome to the site.

Ah...yes, Hwy 32 through Bixby and out to Salem! One of my favorite roads in Missouri!

I've been a membr of this forum since 2006 - unfortunately, it is many months that the daily ratio of politics-to-bike posts has approached at least 5 to 1 (if not more), so following my father advice "less talk more action" I'll leave for other pastures...

So long, and thanks for the fun time!

No! Don't go just post more. I've never been to England so post some pictures and post about your riding adventures or why one bike is better than the next.                  Shrug

Hi,
New guy in the PNW.  Got about 35k on a VStrom 650 as a mix of commuting and some trips.
Looking at moving up to a bigger ST bike - prob a used FJR but still considering whats next.  Hoping to read some of the info here and learn.
Thanks!

Welcome to the madhouse  Bigok

The PNW is a great place to ride, and there are roads to fit whatever style bike you set your heart on  Thumbsup
Personally, I was alway partial to my VFR750 when crossing the Cascades. But a dual sport would be a great addition too, because of all of the FS roads in the area.

Hi folks!

I'm not new here, just back after a hiatus. I think I first joined the old forum back when the main topic of discussion was whether kerosene or acetylene headlights were better. Then I re-registered with this new forum in 2015, posted a couple of times, and dropped off again. Sorry for being so flaky!

I live in Albany, Oregon, USA and ride a 2015 Yamaha FJ-09. I'm currently in the process of preparing the FJ for the six day Butt Lite X Rally in July, although we'll see if it actually happens with the virus situation.

Hello there, Keith. Oregon sure is pretty.

The "flaky" people Mrs DD mentions are really of her imagination. Of course, if she mentions me she is probably right.
