Thanks for all the great info and I will lurk no more.

Glad you've stepped out, jd.  Welcome to the world of posting. Enjoy.

I have a Honda 110, wish I could trade that for a Bandit.

Hi, all.  My husband bookmarked this page for me when I asked him why he was spending HOURS every day on the computer.  I've been lurking for a week or so now and thought I should register.  I can't remember a time when I haven't loved motorcycles.  My first wheels in high school numbered two (figured I could borrow Mom's car on rainy days) and it made parking in college much easier, too!  Had a 20 year hiatus when I married a guy who didn't ride - he became history but my love of bikes stuck.  When I met my current husband (dgilmore) 15 years ago, he'd just gotten a new bike to celebrate his divorce and I promptly bought one so I could ride again.  We've been happily motoring together ever since.  We're both retired - way too much time to shop/trade bikes and although we ride almost every day at least locally, seems like we never have time to get all the travelling we want done.  But we try to do three or four trips a year.  ST.N is a great site and I've already picked up some good info.

Hi everyone!  Recently stumbled onto this site and it seems like it's right up my alley.  I am a seasoned rider with about 24 years experience and have been a bike freak since I was a kid.  I live in Orange County, CA and love it here.  Lots of great roads in just about any direction.  I've owned 8 bikes in my life and I have great memories of each one.  I currently own a 2004 FZ1 and absolutely love it!  I've been doing alot of solo riding around socal lately 200-300 miles most Sundays and am looking forward to doing some extended 3-4 day rides real soon.  In my many years of riding, I have yet to do anything more than just day rides and while that's great, I long to really get out and explore.  Sequoias, Yosemite, Utah, Redwoods, Norcal, Colorado.......I dream of riding to these places every day.  Perhaps I need to come out of my shell and meet some new people, which is the reason I decided to check out this site and make myself known.  So say hi and if you're in the socal area and are looking for someone to ride with, let me know.

Welcome to the nut house. Just ignore the Brits. Everyone else does....well except for that Falklands thing a few years ago.....
And while you're at it, ignore the Yanks too. There are so few of them on this site that it should be easy to do.
But seriously, welcome. This is a great site and the members I have met at various gatherings have all been tremendous, fun and quite knowledgeable. Have fun and ride safely!

Hi All,

Another that's been lurking for a while and decided to come out into the open.

Been riding for about 25 years, initially in my native Scotland and Europe, and lately in the US. Currently riding an '07 FJR1300AE, (love it), which is a follow on from an old FJ1100, ZXR750, CBX and others. Got back into riding after a five year forced absence due to emigrating.(Had to buy a house, furniture, car etc. leaving no money for toys!).

Moved up to York, PA a couple of years ago, and have met quite a few riding buddies in the area. I ride almost year round, and manage to commute to work occasionally.

Look forward to contributing where I can and hopefully meeting some of you on the road.

Gidday, eh!

I am a 42 year old male who live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I purchased my first street bike (a 2002 Kawasaki EX 500) last fall and have rode all summer. My previous riding experience was dirt only (KX 125) between the ages of 14 and 18. I certainly don't have the testicular fortitude I used to have.

Jamboa back again. I have been in and out of sport touring bikes with the ST1100, Trophy 1200, ST1300. If I do not give in to my late life crisis & buy the new VMAX I will be trying to decide between  the FJR 1300A and the Concours 14. I am leaning toward the new Connie. I was looking at the BMW's but the price  is just not worth it to me.

Well - I sold my 2000/ Yamaha Roadstar Silverado this am!! and looking to move into the world of sport - touring. After some reading, I'm interseted in the FJR / ST/ & the 1200RT. A freind has an 1100RT and so it's a plus . BUT I did read about tranny spindles & ABS issues on the Beemers? hmmm... need someone to chime in here with difinative knowledge! I've read about Honda 1300 being a Reliable Vanilla and the love for the FJR. Not alot about the Concours

... I should say I want to spend enough to get more current tech without going over board, which pegs me in the 2000 - 2004 model range - I think? I want comfort and all around handling without the reapair bills or higher insurance?

I'll miss my beast but look forward to a new level of riding. I might ad my buddy out west (BC) rides a newr 1800 Wing and said a long time ago - if you want to cruise with 100 HP - get a wing!

I have objection to buying USA - state side. Only if the odometer is both Miles / kilometers and has daytime running lights already.

All feedback is more than welome.

cheers!

Hello to all!  I found this site through the Concours Owners Group so have been visiting for 3 or 4 days and registered on Sat.  Nice place you have here Cool and hope to learn and listen.
I am 57 yrs. old with 2-2002 C-10 Concours in the garage.  Great all around bike but not so comfy for 2 up in my wifes opinion but she prefers to ride her horses anyway so we get along fine going our merry ways. Ride safe!
