Someone needs to start spreading founded and unfounded rumors about a new Le Mans.

Sure. Guzzi had this on display at their recent open house:
But, I'll give you zero odds that anything like it will come out of the factory.

Hey, I recognize that! If it stayed that pretty, they just may be able to sell me a new LeMans. I really really need a third Guzzi!

The next LeMans will likely upset the faithful. Water cooled, delta box framed, super sport styling and lighter weight. We will howl, we will moan and yet it will draw us in, sluts that we are.

It won't be quite the same as the old stuff, but for Guzzi to survive, I fully realize that they must advance. They can always keep a couple of legacy designs around for the nostalgic folks like me. I would still like to see a v1200 or v1400 Eldorado, with a loop frame made out of (lighter) high strength steel, modern suspension (though still twin shocks) and a six-speed transmission, while still retaining the classic tank with chrome patch, the dual saddle and Gran Turismo handgrips. (That's more likely a bike I will have to custom build some day.)

I'd prefer the Bellagio engine in a V7 and the small block in a tonka-like ADV bike such as:

OK, I'll start an unfounded rumour about a LeMans remake right now:
It's currently shooting in France, with Jason Statham as Michael Delaney as he tries to rebound from his loss at the famed 24 hour race in 1970.
It picks up during testing for the 1971 season, with the protagonist having secured a ride with his former rival team Ferrari, after his bitterly disappointing 1970 season with Porsche, which led to his contract being terminated.
His love interest, the former international model Sarah Palmer, played by Gwyneth Paltrow, is trying to overcome her addictions and battle her inner demons, after the man she loved, racer Virginio Carboni, was killed while competing in a little known race in South America. She wrestles with the affections of Delaney, while still haunted by the memories of Carboni. She is torn between returning to Milan and restarting her modelling career, or remaining in the inner circle of auto racing and all it's excitement and dangers.
To complete the plot, his arch-rival, Erich Stahler, played by Patrick Dempsey, has left Ferrari and filled the position vacated at Porsche by Delaney.
Release expected in early 2016
