Looking at CA trip June 22-26

It's a long way from Colorado, don't want any snow or water running across the roads on the passes. I'd rather wait until July.  Isn't the snow gone my late June though?

I live in Idaho and for the last 2 years have been down to the Yamaha FJ West Coast Rally in Petaluma and Willits which is held the last few days of May into June 1 to the 3rd. Never had a problem with snow, rained one year in route.  All I can say is the IMO the biggest show stopper is it is cold at the summits.  Glad I had good gloves and heated grips.  From Sacramento on the weather is usually great !  If I were you I would target the end of June and watch the weather as the earliest for a fun trip.  Everyone associates Nevada with hot weather but let me tell you that early in the year North Nevada (Hwy 50 included) gets cold especially at night. Check your route elevation.  Probably not much help but that is my experience. Have a safe ride.

You will have no problem at all with snow in the Sierra's in mid June. End of May is about as late as it has ever snowed. It can get cold on the passes at night so just plan accordingly.

I'm not worried about getting snowed on, just leftover snow that might compromise the road conditions in any way.

Considering how mild the winter has been so far my bet is you could come down now and the passes would be open.

Don't leave out the best part, where 1 leaves the Pacific and heads east to Leggett at 101, the west coast Dragon!  So good he'll want to turn around and do it again!

Be aware that in June, any road in land more than 25 miles, will be very warm! Just saying….

only places to even worry about snow is up north (north of I 80). and both ebbits and sonora passes. but those two will be wide open.
only two passes that are not plowed. all other roads are kept open year around.

Cal trans sz all of them are still closed except for 88.  120, 108, 4 and 89, closed over the Sierras.  They should open much earlier than usual though.

Looked at that run on the map thingie today. From where I live it looks like a good day run. Up 395 over 178 to 155 and on to Bakersfield and down home. Never been on 155 but it looks nice on paper!

155 used to be fabulous for sport riding, then, they repaved a couple years ago and it's not so Bueno...... still really good for Sport-Touring, though.

If you can plan it (and have not been there) do your self a favor and take a spin back into Kings Canyon.  Hwy 180 east out of Fresno.  A great scenic ride down the canyon....... and a kick-ass ride back up it!!  Never much traffic (everyone goes to Yosemite)

I am leaving for NorCal in a little less than a week. Some digging found this map which I intend to explore. Never done the lost coast or the Mad River to near Willow Creek goat path.

Pretty sad about 155. Its an extra day to get down there for me. It was amazing in2010 is it the type of pavement?
