I love mine...yes, the tank capacity is limited but if you pull over regularly you get to rumble in to more coffee shops, dramatically remove your helmet and flash your perfectly white teeth at awestruck girls more often.

 That seems to be about average for fuel capacity, better than some...a lot better than the FZ-09 and almost as big as the FJ-09.  My '11 Stelvio (early model tank) only holds 18l/4.75 US gallons and I get by.

Yeah, I can live with it ...... especially since it will mostly be my day rider & short two day weekend jaunts.  Anything longer shall be on the big KaTooM.

Also, I expect range to improve as the motor runs in and after I flip on an exhaust and re-fueling/map/flash, or whatever.   I'd be OK with a 150 - 170 range

For a little extra fuel range, I bought one of these. 2 litres and it is has a large mouth that fits gas pumps. Solid.  I paid less than this on ebay. But beware, there is an earlier version with a very small mouth that you would need a funnel for.

 Back ordered, but added to my wish list. Should fit my needs better than tiny MSR bottles.
I have a pair of Rotopax for my Stelvio coming in this week, but the Touratech jug could be very handy on some other bikes.

As long as I'm not flogging the clacker out of it mine has a genuine 300+Km range now. If I ride 'Conservatively' I can get close to 340! It is custom mapped though.

Get the cables and download Guzzidiag/Reader/Writer and I can flip you a decant map. Need to know what if any mods you've made.

Hey, now!!  That sounds promising.

Well, I have had the Griso only 2 weeks (600 mi) and have not done a single thing to it yet. However, I just bought one of Todd Eagan's mega phone pipes and his "fueling kit"  I have a feeling your route would have been a whole lot cheaper.   However,  I just spoke to a fella that just had Todd do same to his Stelvio and he's freaking out how much more HP and torque in the mid-range...... and smooth!!

I have gotten 320 km out of mine with a passenger while riding gently but riding a Griso gently is as wrong as lending your kids to the vatican.

That's with a Mistral high mount and the factory programming.  I know I should get it flashed but I haven't.

Pete, if there's a specific map you recommend for that configuration I'd like to hear it.

Yours being an '07 it's an 1100 right? Mark has a 'Iniversal' map for the 1100's with a pipe but nothing Hi-Pipe specific. For the 1200's there is no better pipe that the Mistral Hi-Pipe but the 1100 is a completey different animal.

I can flick you the 'Universal' to try if you like but it'll probably be too rich.

I has seriously considered the Griso before deciding on the V7 Stone.  I could have afforded the Griso but would not have had any $$ left
for luggage, etc.  Granted I would not have had to do any suspension upgrades.

The modded V7 came out to just about the same price as  the stock Griso.

But damn it sure is one sexy bike

Yeah, the 1100.  Naturally I would have the sense to have almost selected the perfect combination of motor and exhaust. Almost.

Well, if you figure it would be rich, I'm sure you're right. I know I'm not helping by leaving the db killer out, either.  But the sound during compression braking is addictive and now I have a habit.

Anyway, I'd be inclined to defer to your advice. If you think the available remap is worth the effort/is a significant improvement, I'd give it a go.  If you think the effect would be subtle, I probably won't understand it anyway.

I love riding but frankly I've never been a particularly technically skilled rider and the bike runs fine as is.  A more skilled hand would probably be bothered by some flat spots in the power curve but I'm too dense to pick up on it.  And I have grey and greyer hair all the time. I'm way past the point of pushing bikes hard.


So yeah, I'm totally open to whatever you think would be best.  If you get to chat drag racing with Mickey Thompson, you don't talk if you can help it, you just take notes and follow instructions.

Buy the cables, download the programmes, save your current map, (This is the longest part of the operation, it takes about 15 minutes.) install new map and re-set TPS and self learning parameters, (About three minutes.) go ride and see what you think. Charlie from Taree is running the 'Universal' map in his 'Lo-Pipe' bike with no dB killer in and is happy. He too had the full PCV-AT + 'Reflash' package in his and it drank fuel and ran like a munter. He came down to Bungendore and we disconnected the PC and stuck Mark's Map in and he rode away happy. I think his statement was "This is how it should of been from the get-go." Oddly enough there are a host of cheap PCV-AT set-ups for Guzzis on Fleabay and the classified ads sections of numerous Guzzi boards..........
