2015 National Meet (current standings)

Location:
LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

Best Western is willing to reserve a block of rooms for us, at $79.95 per night, Sep 7-10.  Location is great- a mile or two south of I-90 on US53/WI35.  They have nice facilities, meeting rooms (already reserved one for Wednesday night 9/9), indoor pool, bar, restaurant, and outdoor deck.  It is on the river.

Link to their website:  http://bestwesternwisconsin.com/hotels/best-western-riverfront-hotel

The conference room has a $200 fee, but every meal ordered by a guest at the dinner counts toward the fee.  So, it may be a week or two before you can start reserving rooms, but we now have accommodations.

Dates:
Tuesday September 8 through Thursday, September 10, 2015.  Arrive on or after Monday afternoon, Sep 7.

Welcome to the bughouse.   As always, looks like Mrs DD has the making of a great meet shaping up.  Too bad for me that I will not be able to attend. Other plans take precedence.

Looking forward to it.  Coming from Thunder Bay, WI is a great place to ride.  Won't confirm until I am sure that there are no conflicts.

The proposed date (Monday of Labor Day and the following several days) do not work for me.

But hey, I voted for June.   Twofinger

Since I live in Wisconsin the only way I won't make it is if something drastic happens.

I'm relatively sure I'll be in the Smoky Mountains at this time, but if not, I'll be at this event.

So, I have a quick question. Wisconsin (great), September (pretty good), but have we locked in the exact dates yet?
Is it the 7th-10th?..or are we still considering a later date.

Either way, I'm there, just wanted to make some other plans and need a start date..Thanks. (kinda pushy aren't I  Rolleyes...sorry 'bout that. Embarassment )

My 2 cents how about Sept 1-4  instead of after Labor day as everyone wants the post laborday week off, making vacation a lot more difficult for folks.Or a week later. In any case I am a tentative In.

Someone needs to be pushy   :leghump:

I think that Dr Mikey is going to head things up, so I'll let him pick the dates. He should hurry up though, so people can start making plans...

Well sorta kinda.....

September it will be. How about Monday the 7th (get there that evening, Labor Day) through Thursday the 10th?

Alternately, if the second week (the 14th through the 17th) works better for more folks, I'm open to it. The Monday holiday makes for one less vacation day people will have to take, so I figure the 7th-10th is best.

Poor DrMikey is most likely too busy at the moment trying to figure out how to get himself out of this herding cats mess he' gotten himself into, to even think about nailing down the dates.  Lol

Picking a central hotel can be a pain, especially if you are trying to find somewhere nearby to have a group dinner. Once you find a place that is large enough, is willing to put out a hose for a bike washing station, and maybe even set aside a motorcycle parking area, then they won't give you much of a discount on a block of rooms. But you go with it anyway and then the complaints start coming in that the place is too expensive and we should have stayed over here or there. A thankless job until some start actually giving you thanks and you learn to ignore those that complain about everything.

THANKS DRMIKEY! u b da man! Now piss half the folks here off and pick some dates!  Bigok Lol

Keep in mind that Labor Day weekend it the time in Wisconsin when many people close their "up North" summer cabins for the winter and bring the boats home. The traffic will be abnormally heavy that weekend. Imagine cars with boat trailers. Lots of them.

Hopefully most of that will be further east between the upper WI. northwoods area and the Milwaukee/Chicago corridor.  Still, if you are coming in from the east, it's a factor to be considered.
